My blog has been somewhat silent lately. My head seems to be in a lot of different places. I went to breakfast with the girls this morning and then we went for a small adventure. I found a tree that I am so in love with, it is right by this small stream. We all sat in the tree and listened to the water over the rocks and saussie yell for her somewhat naughty dog. It was nice to be out, but it was hot.

So I told you I would post photos of Smokey, the dog with bone cancer. He broke my heart when I met him. I kept trying to get down on his level and he would gimp over and fall in my lap. It all started with just a small limp, something that most people would not take to mean cancer and now he can’t even use his leg and now his life is in limbo. He is a blessed dog to be where he is. John his caregiver has known him for three years or so. He really cares for him; I couldn’t imagine how much his heart hurts for him. I know mine hurts and I barely know Smokey.

So as Smokey as my inspiration, I am taking all my dogs to the vet here at the sanctuary to get blood tests and just checked over. My dogs are all older and need old dog check ups and Ansli is getting those lumps, which are probably fatty tumors.

I talked to Nikki for a while yesterday. I miss her. I miss the rescue. She told me all about the mom dog that gave birth at her house. The puppies are so tiny and they sound like little birds chirping. Cute.

This week will be busy at work, I have a lot to do, but also, since getting colder out in the evenings, it makes me want to craft. So I am getting my knitting out and starting on my special projects as soon as I can get the materials.

May the stars carry your sadness away,
May the flowers fill your heart with beauty,
May hope forever wipe away your tears,
And, above all, may silence make you strong.
