love.

I wish I could tell you how much I love it here… My heart feels so full. No… Life isn’t perfect and I don’t ever think it will. But as I envelope myself in this place I feel like I am “home”. This is the place I saw in my journeywork.

My friend posted this photo on her fb page. I fell so in love with it. I love the woods. I love being so “in” nature – the trees, the river, the land and even the crazy people. that live here and yes… I might say this everyday 😉 Loving life is good, people!

I loved Thoreau’s experiment on living in the woods and his thoughts of what he learned.
“I learned this, at least, by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings. In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” (Walden, 323- 324)

This photo actually has nothing to do with anything except my friend saussie hates my hat. She calls it a chicken hat. So I took a photo with a bird just for her, but of course every time I wear this I get lots of super awesome “like” comments in Real Life. I think I will knit her a chicken hat for Christmas.

Ps… I am working on a SUPER awesome giveaway for December to say a big fat Thank You to my awesome readers, friends and customers. So awesome it is hard for me to want to give it all away. It will be HUGEMONGUS!

P.S.S  – You have to go check out the Mali Mish blog! They are airstreamers that we have been following for quite a long time and me and Sally got to meet them. They are the most adorable family and those Kids… OMG! so cute!! Sally loved getting to say hello too. I so wish I had even gotten ONE photo, but alas… I didn’t. My head stays in the clouds sometimes, but you can follow their blog and daydream through all their awesome photos on their travels… I know I do.

I’m so happy for you that you’re loving it there. It would be wonderful to live in a place where you feel like you belong. We’re working on that!

I read the Mali Mish blog this morning and was excited to see you on it. So cool that you met!

I love that Wilderness photo. Going to put that on our Pinterest! 🙂

We are still thinking the Southwest, although we’d love to travel for a while if possible. It’ll be another 3 1/2 years (or more), though. We have to wait for Mike’s sons to graduate school.

We had a funny thing happen with them. When we were coming home from the grocery store one day, Mike spotted an Airstream in a nearby neighborhood, so we went and took a picture of it. It turned out that was their Airstream! We didn’t find out until a few days after they had moved on, though.
