we are here…finally.

by canyon critter on October 4, 2009

We are here, we are mostly settled…kind of. I still have a lot to do as far as painting and getting furniture, but my dad was so amazing and worked so hard getting the yard and garage and so many other things done to make this house better for us. He is the most dearest person to me.

I went out today to a cheese tasting and beer and bacon fest. It is so weird to be around people that are young, have tattoos and have dogs. I LOVE it here so much. The cheese tasting was sooo good and crowded, but soon we were cheesed out and headed over to the B&B fest. Being a vegetarian it was a little hard, but sadie wanted to go, so I tagged along. (ok…wait. I am a FREAKIN’ vegetarian wanna be vegan, it was SOO hard to be there…haha! EEEK! Wilbur, I am sorry)

It was packed with people, skate ramps, bacon jewelry, bacon beer, bacon pops, lots of bands and lots of bacon. haha!

I have already found the MOST amazing vet EVER. I didn’t want to leave. They LOVED sally and were the nicest people ever. that is the thing, though. Everyone here has been so incredibly nice it almost feels like aliens have taken over. I love the energy here, the green and all the little shops. We are so incredibly happy, except for the fact, that when I walked in the door, ansli broke my new and primary lens…but sarah said it could probably be fixed. I either have to find a canon dealer, a camera shop or send it in. I am having a special coffee drink with a smidge of jack daniels right now to help me not think about my lens….ARRRRGGGGG!

But look at this yard, the dogs are in HEAVEN. Half an acre to run around in, squirrels everywhere and many VERY tired doggers at the end of the night. 🙂

toodles.

So glad you made it!!! I’ve been checking your blog and FB every day for news. Moves are always stressful, but it sounds like things are coming together.

hi amy,
yes, slowly. I still have an empty house. I have NO furniture. bwhaha! my dad just left today, so it has been a busy week to say the least and I have been very sick. We are taking it easy for a couple days and then getting on the job front. EEK! how are you doing? so weird to be in civilization, I had to actually wear make-up and clothes that didn’t make me look like a bag lady. hahaha! 🙂 but I love being around people my age and so much to do and so many places to see…

WOW love the yard. Good for your crew. I never asked, why Portland? Anything particular?

yah, they LOVE the yard. Tomorrow I have to go explore the neighborhood for a walking route. My friend Courtney moved here years ago and loved it. Ever since then maybe for eight years or so, I have researched it tons. So many artists and young people are here and I wanted to be apart of that kind of community and it is SOO dog friendly and eco friendly. I already love it sooo much. I feel so at home and it finally feels right…
