dog rescue

Did you know…

by canyon critter on November 13, 2011

That of my pack – Millie, Sally, Jack and Edi are from the Mutt Scouts. Edi and Millie were my very first rescues. It was literally their day to die, since Millie was sick and Edi was a biter (we were too late for Millie’s Brother) After we rescued them, they had to go to the vet, since they were super sick. They were there for close to a month, but also in boarding. I went and visited them everyday taking them slices of meat and clean blankets. Little did I know they would change my life so hugely…. all of them.

Millie was and is my heart. She crossed over from a bad cancer and  even though I know her spirit is with me always, I gave her a place on my arm to show everyone how amazing she is.

Edi was 25 pounds when we first rescued her. Now she is 40, so you could imagine how skinny she was…

of course everyone knows Sally… even in the shelter she was a little rolly polly thing. Love this girl.

Yah, she is at the shelter and she still smiles.

So yes… this contest is exhausting and yet still 9 more days, but we don’t want to give up. This money could help us build a place to save more dogs like these. If you were in the shelter everyday and saw the hopelessness of all the faces you would be posting that voting link like crazy people. We can help give these critters hope and love.

Please vote Mutt Scouts and keep us in the top 100 to for a chance to win 25,000.

why should I?

by canyon critter on November 11, 2011

vote for the Mutt Scouts in the chase giving fund? Because we have a stellar reputation and we will go to all lengths to fight the good fight for the critters.  We have rescued hundreds of animals and networked animals out of the shelter faster than a wrapper off a piece of candy. We can take amazing photos of shelter animals and network them out of harms way. We have crawled under houses to save a mom and her pups, we have chased a shepherd down the highway and all along the streets and that is JUST two of our adventures.

We take the underdog, the ones that might get overlooked at the shelter because they might cost money to fix… but we raise the funds. We take the old dogs, the mom dogs, the three legged or one eyed dogs. We see beyond their ailments and offer them love and hope. They make the best companions.

We want to create a place where we can train and educate people as well as create a safe haven for the critters until they find their forever homes.

This voting could be a life altering experience for us. This money could make our dreams of having the funds to open this rescue farm. It is so simple for you to do but could change the rest of our lives.  We value every vote and everyone that has passed this along.

We need you to make this happen.

Vote here and please spread the word and pay it forward. We heart everyone of you!

Plus, I would have never met my crew of dogs if it weren’t for being a part of the mutt scouts.

Vote! Vote! Vote and spread the word

by canyon critter on November 10, 2011

This is so incredibly important to me, to us, to the critters in the present, past and future! We want our rescue/farm this next year and funds to get it. We (The mutt scouts) have wanted this for years and have decided nothing will stand in the way.

Abundance is OURS!!!

Do you remember that Nico photo that swooned the internet? Well, that was my rescue partner Nikki who took that. We want a space to take the unwanted, the three legged or one eyed dogs. The dogs like Sally!! and Nico and all the countless others we have saved or are waiting for us.

So Please with everything in my heart… Vote. It only takes 1 time. Please spread this like wild fire and make this possible for us.

Also 20% off in the Driftwood Jones shop for anyone who votes! code chaselove

Here is the link to VOTE and here is the Mutt Scouts site to go check out the lovelies!

All these dogs in this video – we rescued!
and this little nugget (my sweet Sally) on her walk to freedom… all because of The Mutt Scouts – scouting out the underdogs.

We seriously have a huge and amazing plan for this safe haven for these critters. Please help us make this dream happen. Pay it forward.

Go VOTE!!

Update on Arizona rescue

by canyon critter on October 7, 2011

So my friend Hook is driving 15 hours round trip tomorrow to bail out these dogs from a “sanctuary” that was to put these guys down if not rescued. I am taking tammy, she is taking Rose and Family Dogs New Life in Portland, Oregon is taking four dogs. I am soooo freaking excited because Family Dogs is one of my top favorite places ever! I have been following Tasha and her rescue for years and when I lived in Portland I donated a ton of crates to their rescue. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and I am so thrilled these dogs get to go there. HOWEVER!!!

We need more funds for gas and transport to get them there.

Can you donate a few bucks? Even if a dollar were donated, I think the heavens would roar for us, we  are so grateful for every penny and every bit of help with this rescue. It takes a village to do this and so many people have really stepped up and helped out these critters.

My animal communicator said these are divine animals and the people who take them are pretty special. I totally believe that too.

So here is Family Dogs New Life AWESOME website if you would like more info on them. These are the dogs that we need to get to Portland from Utah. We have transport (our awesome former vet tech at Best friends) but we need funds.

 Hal, Spencer, Buck and Maximus

Also, if you donate… for all donors, if you like, I will give 20% off to my shop – Driftwood Jones Studios. so email info@driftwoodjones.com  and I will give you the special code… just for you and your big heart.

There are still 9 dogs that need out! so look at the posts below if you can help in any way or email or call Deborah the head of the “sanctuary” to find out how you can help.

by canyon critter on May 21, 2011

These are my friends Healing Heart Sanctuary for disabled animals. In July, they are trying to win a car and there is only one day to vote, so in the meantime, they are trying to get facebook friends – as many as possible.  Would you add them and maybe spread the word?
