Sally update.

by canyon critter on February 22, 2013

Sally went to the vet yesterday and she lost 2 pounds – from 28.5 to 26.4 and she should be 32-34 or so but she has only stayed at 30 lbs for the last 2 years because she hasn’t digested any food. Literally, I have been feeding her as much as an 80 pound dog and she was still skin and bones – tried all sorts of enzymes, probiotics… you name it. So this test, these shots to balance her hormones… this could be magic.

She got her second round of shots and this should help her digest or absorb her food – hopefully this week we could even see a change, but it is a delicate balance act of messing with hormones, kidneys and thyroid. My Vet has been talking with Al Plechner and this is the protocol we are following. Her kidneys are pretty stressed and she has a very unusual infection that they still have at the lab trying to figure out what it is. I just hope it isn’t in the kidneys…one thing at time, though.

I now have her on a gallon of raw goats milk a day and I am slowly adding things into her diet and seeing what she can tolerate. If she is allergic to it, her ears and paws get inflammed within hours and if she can’t tolerate it, her stools will also be runny. So I am adding a single raw meat protein source as it is critical she get calories in somehow. I really want to wean her off the goats milk in the next couple weeks because it is costing $20 a day alone. And then I can slowly one at a time add in a potato or broccoli… you get the picture. I will take her in on Monday to weigh her to make make sure she hasn’t lost anymore weight. It is truly upsetting to look at her. She was this weight back when she was sick a couple years ago and ever since then, she just hasn’t been able to absorb food. I will be on my knees if this works. It will work.

but just like Sally… she never stops smiling and wagging that tail. The whole way to the vet, she was in the back seat doing her rolly polly dance. I will have to do a video of it next time. She is kind of famous for it and it is super cute.

So skinny:( lost 2 lbs

I will just be super happy to see this work so I can get Conrad in for surgery.

His tumor is so big and uncomfortable and needs removed stat, but that will be when I get money from the tshirts too as that is $700 with blood work and heart worm test. oy! That is only dog #2. ha but anyways…

I have been in tears of gratitude with all the love sent our way. Some have sent donations and I just… I feel so blessed. My heart is filled with so much gratitude for the donations, for networking my shop, the shirts. I know it will all be ok. It just will.

Thank you…

At the vet

So today I am working on single mobiles because I have had many people inquire about them. They are super cute. I was making them as necklaces, but I think I like them as mobiles better. I have an idea for a necklaces in this design but I need the studio for soldering it.

So if you are interested in a single mobile, let me know what animal. I will be sawing random totem animals this weekend and putting these beauties in the shop for $25.

Apparently i am trying to multi- task. Tea. Totem mobiles and read all before 8am. Oy!
